Hawaii has all the idyllic features of a southern-Pacific archipelago, but with the amenities of any touristy American city. As we arrived there, my friends and I were surprised, and most people who see my pictures seem to get surprised to see how much urban development they have there. The island of Oahu is where lies the State's capital, Honolulu. The city is big and full of tourists. But it has a pleasant atmosphere, a sense of isolation and remoteness that gives a feeling of being in a place lost in time and space.
It's important to explore the island, which in my opinion is best achieved with a car. Apart from Waikiki, there's Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial, the Downtown area; a very scenic roads crosses the island and on the other end is North Shore, with all the surfers at famous beaches such as Waimea, Sunset or Pipeline.
