I`ve been to Munich twice, but only for couple of days. My impressions don`t differ from the usual stereotype of a city where people drink beer all the time and everywhere, and love soccer just as much as people do here in Brazil - wherever there was a TV, there were lots of German gathered and screaming for their Bayern team. The city's full of beautiful Baroque architecture.
So I'm not an expert in the city, but when in Munich, take my advice: rent a car and drive to Schwangau (1:30h drive), a small town just before Füssen, where there are two castles of King Ludwig II, the biggest of which is Neuschwanstein, the most beautiful and fairy-tale-like in Europe. Besides, the scenery along the way is simply stupendous, by the foot of the Alps.
