Theme: Biking
The Mairie (City Hall) organizes rollerskate and bike rides around Paris, and *thousands* of people get together for it. If you happen to be driving or simply trying to cross the street when they're passing, expect to wait some 20min+ until everybody's gone and the police has freed your way... very cool. The 'ballade' on Friday nights is for experienced riders (leaves from Place d'Italie), and every Sunday afternoon there is a ride that anyone can take part in: families, beginners and experts.
Equipment: You can rent the equipment.

Theme: Other
In winter, there's an ice rink in the square by the Hotel de Ville - the City Hall -, one of the most beautiful settings in Paris, especially at night when it's lit up.

Theme: Sports Watching
Just as my own country was winning the World Cup final last year, I was arriving at the airport Charles de Gaulle in Paris, missing out on the huge party that was going on back home, but not the cool party that many dozens of fellow countrymen - and foreigners - were having at the bar right there at CDG!! I asked a Frenchman who was winning, Brazil or Germany, and he kindly answered "Brazil, thank god!"... hehe

aterceironeto Thu Jul 10, 2008 03:32 UTC The worst hotel. It isn'tas shown on photos and video. Cubicle, smelly rooms, rude staff. Front desk was not allowed to call a shuttle to airport because they only sell Air France bus. Stay in somewhere else to avoid wasting your money | Ipanema_Princess Mon Jun 27, 2005 22:39 UTC Really nice page on Paris. So many things I still have to see in my own city ! I love the galleries too. Parabens ! | knightrider2 Thu May 19, 2005 04:25 UTC You have some great restaurant tips. They will come in handy for my upcoming Paris trip. | morgane1692 Tue Jan 18, 2005 13:56 UTC Aaaaah, grey skies in Paris beat sunny skies anywhere else, don't they?! We need to revisit this city. One of these eons...;-) |
