I spent 40 days in Paris last year and knew of FIVE cases of people being robbed by pickpockets in the subway. I was almost robbed myself, but I noticed it and held the hand of the little girl, then she ran away. So that's something to be considered: do not think it can't happen to you, or that they exaggerate. How they work: when the subway is crowded, pickpockets will take advantage of the fact that everyone is "allowed" to get to close to everybody else when they're trying to board the car, and when the sound indicates the doors are closing, they rapidly stick their hands in our pockets and leave as soon as the doors close. Well, that's probably universal, anyway.

The worst hotel. It isn'tas shown on photos and video. Cubicle, smelly rooms, rude staff. Front desk was not allowed to call a shuttle to airport because they only sell Air France bus. Stay in somewhere else to avoid wasting your money | salampeace Mon Jul 4, 2005 20:01 UTC
