Fisherman's Wharf: Fisherman's Wharf
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Everyone says the entire Fisherman's Wharf is one big tourist trap, yet I don't know anyone who doesn't go there at least once during their stay in SF. ;) It simply cannot be avoided.

At Least Do This: My tip is to spend an hour there after your Alcatraz trip, and that's more than enough. It has tons of small shops with souvenirs, but everything is more expensive than in Chinatown. There are tons of restaurants there, but from what I gather, few of them are good. I do recommend going to Rainforest Cafe though, just for fun. It is right there in the Wax Museum Building.
Alternative: So if you're looking for cheap souvenirs, T-shirts, mugs with Golden Gate bridge logo, and stuff like that, I suggest you buy it in Chinatown, not Fisherman's Wharf. It's much cheaper there.
