The Vatikan is an absoulute must!
Don´t miss the Museum, it stores the gifts and treasures of the popes, collected over the centuries.
You will find fascinating wall- and cealingpaintings. Goblains (Illustrated wall-carpets) to make your eyes water, and beautiful statues.
The Sistine Chapel is a cultural masterpiece, with the paintings of Michel Angelo.
The St.Peters Dome is GIGANTIC! Your eye contantly gets fooled by the dimensions. If you ever go in there and see the latin writing along the walls in black letters on golden background, be aware that the letters are 2 meteres big!

The entrance fee is 10 Euro, and since the 11th sep.2001, the security has increased. All visitors get checked, so go there early. Otherwise you might wait for quite a while.

btw... if someone on the street offers you 20 postcards for 1 Euro, it´s cheap... if someone offers you a collection of vatican-Euros, they´re propably fakes.
