Salem, Massachusetts
Salem makes a nice day trip if you want to get away from the congestion of Boston. It is a quintessential New England town (and there are many around the Boston area) characterized by it’s small size, 18th century architecture and an incorporation date back in the 17th or 18th century.

Salem has a dark history as its claim to fame surrounds the witch hunt and subsequent trials that took place here in 1692 in which 20 people were hanged to death for 'being' witches. This past has, as one might guess, created a small cottage industry of witch related shops and museums in Salem also known as tourist traps... No worries, looking past the witch museums, paranormal shops and palm readers Salem is pretty cool town.

Terrific Salem atmosphere on your page...loved it. Recently came back from my umpteenth trip .. which I made with Gosia from Warsaw. I'm ready to go back again. Always more to see that I haven't had chance to investigate.
