    • A single room with private bathroom runs around $106 USD.

    Unique Qualities: For a decent price, the Savoy is a relatively short distance from all the shopping, theaters, art galleries and other activities found around Union Square. They also serve up wine and cheese daily for happy hour.

    • You can sometimes find good deals on weekends here around $125/night.

    Unique Qualities: Located a few blocks from Union Square, the Hilton San Francisco is near many art galleries, theaters and some of the best shopping in San Francisco. Also, this hotel underwent a major renovation in the late 1990s so its real nice place to stay...very polished. Finally, there is a great Irish Pub just up the street, Johnny Foleys...

    • You can often find great weekend deals for around $125 USD per night.

    Unique Qualities: Wedged between the Financial District and the Bay, this Hyatt has great views of the Ferry Building, the Embarcadero, San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge. In fact, I took the nightime photo on my intro section from my hotel room when I was staying at this Hyatt back when much of the Embarcadero was still under construction. Anyway, it is also close to the eastern terminus of the California Street Cable Car and the Embarcadero BART station. Unfortunately, this Hyatt is a heathly walk from the nearst restaurants or other nightlife.
