Off The Beaten Path: Climbing to the sky...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Trees.
Now,...normally one wouldn't think that trees could be considered an 'off the beaten path' excursion, but have you ever climbed one on a gorgeous spring day? Toronto has many a tree worthy of such a feat, and I firmly believe that my son is close to having climbed every one worth the effort. Thank God Health Care is free here. :o)

Off The Beaten Path: Culture On The Cheap
  • Tip Rating:
  • Running from the beginning of July until the end of August, CanStage presents their "Dream In High Park", which is an annual open-air, pay-what-you-can production of one of Shakespear's finest works. Last year (2003) it was "Twelfth Night". This year? Who knows, but it's bound to be a great evening out. All Performances run from Tues.-Sun. starting at 8:00pm in the Amphitheatre in High Park, and as I said before, adults pay-what-you-can and children are always allowed in for free.

    Need a teaser?

Malvolio - SWEET lady, ho, ho.
Olivia - Smilest thou? I sent for thee upon a sad occasion.
Malvolio - Sad, lady? I could be sad: This does make some obstruction in the blood, this cross-gartering. But what of that? if it please the eye of one, it is with me as the very true sonnet is: "Please one, and please all."

I surely don't know's what da Bard was a talkin' aboot, but he sure hadda way witt da words, eh?

    ;o)

Off The Beaten Path: Brew-brew-brewery Tour. *hic*

  • Housed in the original "CPR John Street Roundhouse" downtown near the CN Tower and Skydome, Micro-brewery Steam Whistle Brewing run daily half hour tours of its facilities, giving you a firsthand peek of, and behind the scenes of, its Premium Pilsner brewing process. There are 6 differently priced tours (depending on the souvenir you choose) but the basic tour is $4.00 per person, which includes the full tour, a tasting at the end as well as your choice of a souvenir glass or bottle opener.

So what are you waiting for? Give them a call,...set up a tour! They're a great group and I guarantee you'll love it, and if you end up loving the beer? It's now exported to Germany so next time you're there you can relive the memory of your Toronto visit. Of course,...that's if you can remember your visit: Steam Whistle is just that tasty. ;oP

Stores don't take 100's and tries to dodge the 50's? Time to issue some new 'safe' money?? :-) Also, the City Hall looks like the building in Resident Evil 2 movie. Just a thought or two. Thanks for ever amusing and helpful tips!
