If you're a football fan, and even if you're not, try a visit to one of the big Istanbul clubs if you happen to be there during the season. Galatasaray and Besiktas play very close to central Istanbul. It's a worthwhile trip, just for the atmosphere!! Just be careful!

Equipment: A helmet and a bullet proof vest. Just kidding!! Even though it's not as dangerous as a lot of people might think, it pays to be careful. Don't carry stuff you don't absolutely need, get there early, and either leave early or after the rush.
