museums. getty is nice, great architecture, and good art if you like the older, kinda biblical stuff. museum of contemporary art, or la county art museum are places i like. huntington library has the prettiest gardens i have ever seen. holocaust museum is good. beaches are great, newport, huhntington, santa monica are most popular and have good shopping. places to see and be seen. i like laguna and bolsa chika better, more natural. within 2 hr of LA is beach, mountain, desert. go to all! try venice beach to see the worlds odd people.

little tokyo is small, between 1st and third streets near san pedro street. but theres sign in japanese, a japanese supermarket or two, all japanese bookstores, video stores, restaurants, bakeries, clothing shops....very quaint.
