Spent a year living in the Sinai (Sharm el-Sheikh) with the peacekeeping forces there. A few highlights:
Nile Cruise on Sheraton Cruise Line...Luxor to Aswan, hitting the major temples along the way.
Abu Simbel
Serabit El Khadim, a turquoise mine and temple to Hathor up in the mountains of Western Sinai.
St. Catherine's Monestary with a tour by one of the monks, and trip up Mt Sinai...even saw some snow.
Frequent trips to visit friends in Cairo. Got around by metro mainly, very easy, clean, and efficient (for Cairo, anyway).
Hanging out with Bedouins
Driving in long distance taxis at night, and practicing screams of terror.
