  • The trip didn't require, or have the time to go to these two places...Maybe some other time. Still, the sign was cool.

  • I spent some time wandering around Amman late afternoon and into the evening. It was great, as I was the only westerner that I saw. The most danger that I was ever in was as I was trying to cross the street...that was a challenge. After spending some time at the theater, I wandered up to the Citadel. At the top, three kids were hanging out. When they saw me, they ran over and we attempted to talk. They spoke about as much English as I did Arabic, but we had fun trying to converse. I showed them the camera, and took a bunch of pictures of them doing karate poses, and goofing around, and then showed them the pics on the back of the camera. They really enjoyed seeing themselves in their 'threatening' poses.

Later, I ate supper in a market set up down by the bus station. Had some great chicken shwarma, rice and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Well, 2 years later, the country is as safe as before but the tourism still hasn't picked up, if you get up early enough, you still have Petra just for yourself!!

I'd love to see Petra one day. Jordan is so much more, I know. One day I will be here too. :)
