The First Year Abroad...

Riyadh Skyline
Well, my travels have brought me to the heart of the Middle East, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I'll be here for a year, working with the Saudi government. It's interesting work so far.
Security
Visited the Royal Conference Center...well guarded, as evidenced by the military presence outside. Several more inside, as well, including the guy on our floor, who's sub-machine gun was conspicuously kept on "fire" (i.e., the little red dot was showing...).

Pros:"An interesting city, if you can get here"
Cons:"Somewhat depressing, crowded, crazy drivers, lots of air pollution"
In A Nutshell:"Come here if you can...if you can't, look at this page."
