Elmsaafir's Amman Page

I spent 4 days in Amman in March doing some research. It was a very welcoming city, slightly reminiscent of Jerusalem, without the Old City and all the bombings...

I really enjoyed myself, and heard the word "Welcome" at least 30 times a day. Warm, generous people, and some wonderful experiences. Due to the current tensions in the Middle East, there were very few non-Jordanians around. I spent a few hours walking around Amman one evening without seeing another "foreign" face. A bit wierd, but I rather liked it. The people were helpful (in one case, helping me walk across the street...traffic is the most dangerous thing there), friendly, and really made me feel welcome. Definitely go visit sometime. It's great.
