Valletta, the Capital of Malta, is a very walkable town. All bus routes lead there. It is best just to let your instincts guide you through its narrow, atmospheric streets. Try and be there in the mornings or early afternoons as the evenings are surprisingly quiet.

 I'm afraid the TicoTico bar was closed when we tried to visit - October 2004. The barman in the hotel said that a lot of them in Strait Street had closed

 Interesting pub to visit where Oliver Reed spent his last few minutes!! Some good photos.

 You are totally right! Valetta is nice to visit during daytime - but nightlife takes place in St.Julian's or Bugibba!!
