There must be more works of art per square yard in Florence than just about anywhere else in the world. It is one of the most beautiful cities you’re ever likely to encounter. Just walk around and let your senses guide you: You just can’t go wrong. And just where do they also get all those gorgeous people from? :-)

But beware: Some people are so overwhelmed by the beauty, they simply drop down and faint! There’s even a medical term for this condition: Stendhalismo, named after the writer Stendhal who first experienced this symptom. I kid you not…..

On top of all this beauty, there is one other reason why Florence is the place to be: The food is simply delicious and my favourite anywhere in the world.

Make sure you also find some time for at least a day trip to Tuscany, visit a vineyard and savour some Chianti.

So back your bags, rent yourself A Room With A View and get to see the place!
