"Challenger's Rome pages" Rome by challenger

Rome is an El Dorado for history and art lovers like myself. I am very well aware that much has already been written about some of their most famous landmarks (Coliseum, Trevi Fountain etc), but I still hope that I managed to share some helpful info here that you may also find useful.

One of THE biggest attractions for me - The Vatican - will eventually be covered in some separate VT pages.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:So rich in history, you'll need more than just one visit
  • Cons:Very filthy in places
  • In a nutshell:They don't call it the Eternal City for nothing!

Great page with lots of useful tips - esp the one about the bar charges :-) And somehow I think an Irish pub called "The Black Duke" would not really make a roaring business over here...

You weren't impressed by the Colosseum? I thought it was the most fascinating example of civil engineering. But well, I wasn't very impressed with Fontana Trevi. To each his own, I suppose :-)
