It is an Egyptian temple set on a park near Plaza de España. It was given to Spain on the 60's as a gift from the egyptian state for the help on building the Asswan's Damm in the Nile. The government decided to place it and build a park over the rests of the Cuartel de la Montaña, a Republican fort at the Spanish civil War.

This is a natural place near the village of Navacerrada, at Madrid's mountains. The place is superb and a great walk between pines an jaras. You reach the entrance after passing a ruined hospital and there is a litle dum (where the pic was taken). At that level you have two parkings to leave the car (almost the only way to get there). Then a track starts going up mountain following a river, it has some recreational areas to pic-nic, and you can follow the path or loose your self on any of the litle paths that start along and walk around.

At about 60km or around an hour by train you can easily reach Madrid Mountains. Cotos, Navacerrada, Siete Picos, La Mujer Muerta, La Maliciosa, El Monte Abantos,... there are a lot of options to hike, walka or bike around. There exist forest paths linking one and other side of the Sierra and towns, you can also ski. The pic was taken from La Barranca close to Navacerrada.

One of the most beautiful churchs of madrid due to iits architecture and also its history. it was the old panteon for the spanish kings and queens before all the bodies where sent to the monastery of El escorial. it is situated at the end of the Bailen street, between Puerta de Toledo and the Royal Palace. It is a very pleasent area to wolk and loose your self.
