A must see on everyone’s ‘to do’ list! The National sport of thai boxing is an all out anything goes bout between two fighters. Matches consist of five three minute rounds with two minute intermissions between each round. The Lumphini and Ratchadamnoen Stadiums are Thailand’s two main muay thai venues, conveniently located in Bangkok.

The Thai New Year that occurs in April. The kingdom becomes a huge waterfight giving the Thais a chance to release frustration and stress. Visitors either remain in your rooms or run real fast to avoid getting wet. Foreigners are always the better target. Frustration will get you no where because whether you like it or not, in PJs or business suit, there are no exceptions.

A festival held on the full moon of the 12th lunar month, usually some time in November. Small floats or krathongs, made from banana leaves, flowers, incense and candles, are released into the rivers, lakes and canals believing one’s misfortunes are carried away along with the current. The Thai women also enjoy dressing up in traditional attire for this joyous occasion.

Thais and most South East Asian countries have taken a liking to celebrate Western holidays such as Christmas and New Years. Try to make your trip around these dates to see Bangkok during some of her liviest times.
