OOoOOooMy LifeooOOoOO

If I had only one choice
of describing my life with a single photo,
it would be this one.
Taken in Vietnam,
this photo clearly exhibits
the calm within the turmoil.

At the Age of Four

Not long before I turned four, I traveled for the first time. Well, sort of. Born in Vietnam, my family and I fled the country as long years of war raged the land. I was three at the time and we spent 10 months in a refugee camp in Malaysia. We were accepted as Canadian citizens and shortly after, moved to the city of Winnipeg in the province of Manitoba - a city which I have grown to love and hate.

By the way, Canada during the winter months is as cold as they say. But it is that cold that I can no longer live without.

At the Age of Sixteen

Blessed with a group of friends, my teenage years were difficult to leave behind. But as high school came to an end, I was faced with the harsh reality of the world. Nevertheless, I took my strides with confidence and pride.

During this time I made numerous, and I mean numerous, trips to Calgary, which later became my home. Little did I know that Calgary would be the starting point of all my future adventures.

Calgary - Canada's booming city. With great western hospitality, this city and her province, Alberta, welcomes all with an extended warm hand.

At the Age of Twenty-Eight

What some would refer to as the golden years of life, I felt nothing so golden about my twenties. However, it was during this time did the doors of traveling finally opened. A world I did not even know existed. Cultures, sounds and smells that would tickle the senses in all aspects. A road to independence that I did not know I was able overcome.

I made a trip back to my country of birth, Vietnam, spending most of my days in Old Saigon. It was there did I learn to open my mind. To see with my heart, and not with my eyes. To indulge in a culture that has been around for over a thousand years.

My horizons would not end there - Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong, and still counting.

It is true, the world is yours for the taking, it is just a matter of how badly you want it.

At the Age of Thirty

I have found my calling when I stumbled upon a little device called a camera. I have always been interested in photography but it was when I bought my first digital SLR that a whole new world was revealed to me. I still love traveling with a passion but photography really took my life by storm.

It's a good thing they go hand in hand.
