Yes - it is a packaged tour, and they make sure they drop you off periodically at places where you can spend your money, but I thought the tour was great anyway. The tourbus was small, so our tour group was only about 12 people, which I liked. We stopped by a jade factory, and a cloisonne factory/department store where we also had lunch. The Ming tombs tour was nice, but I could have done without the herbal therapy class and sales pitch afterwards. The great wall was an incredible experience. We went up as far as we had time for, and were very tired by the time we got back to the bus. I thought the whole thing was well worth the money.
