Klagenfurt, Rose of the Worthesee What can i say? It was cold for a start...! I wasnt particularly enthralled by Klagenfurt, i think mostly due to the its main attractions being closed for the winter, to give it its due. However, i had managed to fly there for only £25 return so it wasnt bad at all.
I found that the nicest way to see the city was just to walk about, I started by walking down beside the river to the huge lake, which was absolutely beautiful - snow covered hills, typical Austrian buildings etc. Then if you turn around and make your way back you eventually end up right in the city (and if thats too much, you can take bus 10, 11 or 12 back to Heiligengestlatz, which is the bus station in the centre.)
Not having seen the slightest bit of snow this year in England, it was so nice seeing everything completely white, despite a huge load falling off a roof on to my head... hmmm well to be honest it didnt so much 'fall' as was pushed by some crazy Austrian with a shovel. |
