Eating in London
  • Tip Rating:

  • On Leicester Square there are a couple of 'all you can eat for a fiver' places, which i recommend for lunches. At dinner time central london is expensive unless you want a Macdonalds so I'd suggest going a bit further out.

The Wok Inn near Mornington Crescent tube on Camden High Street is very very cheap, and you get huge amounts of food. There are roadside takeaway pizza places all over the place, which sell big slices for £2 but the pizzas will have been sitting out in the road side air all day, with big smelly men waving their armpits over them.....

    Tiger Lil's: Fantastic Thai food
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: Tiger Lil's

The good (or bad) thing about this place is that if you dont like what you get, it's entirely your own fault... For £12.50 you are given a plate, which you take up to a buffet of uncooked noodles, fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, etc to collect as much of what you want as you want. You then give your plate to a guy with a flaming wok who cooks it all up half a metre in front of you (eyebrow singeing!) with your choice of oil, sauce and seasoning. The best thing is that you get as much as you can eat with unlimited returns to the buffet. The atmosphere is fab, the staff are really nice and the chefs are entertainment in themselves.

The only down side is that the music is a bit loud to have a proper conversation, unless you are on a nice, big, noisy table. But, really you are paying for the experience rather than a normal sit down meal.

If you dont trust your choices they also have an a la carte menu, but that is not as good value at all. The drinks are london prices, so fairly expensive, but that is only to be expected in Islington.

Favorite Dish: How to decide, I have about a million favourite combinations!

    Address: Upper Street, Islington
Directions: Very close to HIghbury & Islington station - as you leave station, turn right and keep going. The restaurant is on the other sude of the road, fairly soon the Hope and Anchor pub (though on opposite side of the road).

Wagamamas: Fab Japanese food all over London
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • Restaurant Name: Wagamamas

I love Wagamama's... A really different restaurant experience. You often find yourself on a long bench table sitting next to other groups. The food arrives very quickly and is really tasty.

Favorite Dish: Gyoza (dumplings) Love them! Really tasty.
    Chicken Ramen
    Edemama (soya beans). Very more-ish.
