I spent 6 months in Armenia in 2002. I lived in the village of Harghartsin during the summer months and then moved to a smaller village called Shinuhayr in southern Armenia in the fall.
I also recently revisited Armenia in October 2004, spending time both in Yerevan and with my host family.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Hospitable people - great food - beautiful country
Cons:Horrible pop music - poverty - crumbling infrastructure

What a great opportunity you had who stayed in a family and in Armenia for so long! It is a beautiful country a with really nice people! I have only been there for a week.
