Our journey from Kebili to Tozeur took across the Chott El Jerid, a vast salt lake covering a large area in Western Tunisia. The lake is dry for most of the year though there are pockets of water here and there. There are spectacular mirages on the road and fantastic optical effects and coloured reflections from the water in parts of the lake.

Excellent tips especially off the beaten path tip. I skipped Star Wars Canyon :-(
