Opera de Paris Garnier: A Night at the Opera Opera Garnier Review

Paris's magnificent opera house is one of my favourite buildings in the city. I've walked past it and inside it, but unfortunately have never attented a performance. I imagine you'd have to dress up very well for an evening here and I've never had brought my posh clothes to Paris!!

TGI Friday: Student days in Paris

I haven't been in this place for many years but back in my student days when I spent most summers in Paris we used to always go to TGI Friday's on Rue Montmartre. The reason? It served the most delicious ice-cream cocktails and, more importantly, as we were students, there was a happy hour every evening from 5 to 9.

My favourites were the FBI (Frozen Black Irish), Banana Banshee and Strawberry Shortcake. One summer, my girlfriend and I became such good customers that we were often given free cocktails.

I didn't realize this was an American chain until I went to live in New York but even that didn't stope me returning. I lived in New York for a whole year and never went once to TGI's, yet on every trip I've been to Paris I have gone here. Guess it's one of those habits you get into...
