Though most people associate Puerto Madryn with whale watching in Peninsula Valdes, Puerto Piramides is the place where the trips depart from. Its a small seaside village, on Peninsula Valdes, 100km from Puerto Madryn. Many people arrange their whale watching excursions from Puerto Madryn, but it is cheaper to catch a bus to Puerto Piramides and arrange the tour after arrival.
As well as whale watching, there are other excusrions, such as kayaking and mountain biking available. Once we had finished our whale watching trip, we had 4 hours to wait till the next bus, so we passed the time hiking in the hills around Puerto Piramides. |
