My trip to Paris in 2001 was my fourth visit to France's capital in five years. Yet, in all those visits I had not found time to see one of France's greatest attractions - the palace & gardens of Versailles. So this time I was determined to make it. On our New Year's trip in 2005, I visited again and this time I finally visited the main Palace rooms as it was too cold to explore the gardens. |
The Town of Versailles Most visitors to Versailles come to see the palace and gardens. There is, of course, more to Versailles than just the tourist sights and taking a walk in the town is a nice way to escape the crowds. |  | |

I found the gardens the best part of Versailles. I had to pay to get in though :-( The fountains were going to have a show, and than they ask for entrance fee. It was later in the day and I didn't have a chance to see it :-( |
