On Robin Hood's trail...... - Nottinghamshire

I paid a short visit to Nottingham recently as i had a job interview in the city. The interview, unfortunately, took up most of the day, but i did find time to explore the city and take a few pictures.

A friend in Oxford had warned me not to expect too much but i quite liked this city. Nottingham's industrial past was unfortunately evident in the ugly buildings and sites on the outskirts of the city centre. However, the combination of cafes, churches, and shopping areas in the city, the quiet streets just off city centre, and the historical sites such as the Castle and Caves provided enough evidence that Nottingham is a vibrant, cultural city with a lot of interesting history. And of course, there's always Robin Hood.....

In England it seems as though even the industrial towns are full of castles, history and gardens. Nice job.
