9 August - 1 December 2001. Do you know many people going on placement to South Africa? Well I am one of them!
As part of my English degree in European Logistics Management, I undertook a 4-month placement at Volkswagen of South Africa in Uitenhage (40km from Port Elizabeth). All my student fellows decided to stay in England while I decided to fly as far as possible. I did not succeed to get a placement in Australia or in the US so I tried South Africa. You cannot believe how happy I was when I got the confirmation! I battled a bit to get a work permit from the South African house in London but I finally managed. It is a human and culuture experience I will never forget.
