Prague Castle Gardens: Royal summer garden

  • On your way to Prague Castle, near Lions Gate there is a beautiful Royal Summer Garden just outside the moat. In the Summer Garden the Royal Summer Palace lies, in beautiful Italian renaissance, from 1538 - 1563. From the Summer Garden you also have a magnificent view of the Cathedral of St Vitus, just inside the castle walls.

  • Between the Summer Garden and the castle lies the Stag Moat, where stags were kept in old times, to be hunted by the royal family and the nobility. It was closed to public bur later in 1998 it was opened for general public.
You will not see many tourists around that area.

  • At the gate, you could see two beautifully uniformed sentries standing alert without getting impress from thousands of tourist taking there photo and staring them. My question if I could make a photo was answered by an almost imperceptible blink.
Rain or shine they are standing there.

Church of Our Lady Victorious: Church of Our Lady Victorious

  • Another beautiful church is Prague. An early Baroque structure, built in 1611, and rebuilt in 1644, this church is famous for its wax effigy known as the Prague Child Jesus donated by Polyxena of Lobkovic and brought to Prague at the end of the 16th century.
The name of this church sounds like one of our Pub in England.

  • The original Charles University building, established in 1348. A Gothic bay chapel of 137O was rebuilt in Baroque style in 1718.
At present, Charles University graduation ceremonies take place there.
The windows look beautiful from outside.

Things To Do: Tomas Garrigue Masaryk

  • Statue of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk (TGM) who was the first democratically elected president of the newly formed Czechoslovak Republic (independant of Austria) in 1918. This statue is new and stands on Hradcanske Namesti (by the entrance to the Prague Castle).
i asked one person about that statue who was Slovakian and i was surprised to know that he knew that, who it was . I guess he must be from Slovakia.

  • This is the statue of Czech poet and writer, Julius Zeyer, who was born in 1841. He has plenty of respect in local people's eye. The statue is very interesting, with cave looking impression, surrounded in bushes.
I was in Prague in off peak time and did not see any one around this.

  • Next to Prague castle, Museum of toys is situated. There are seven rooms and in those rooms there are plenty of European and American toys. It is open daily from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. during the season.
This is not a place only for kids there are plenty of interesting stuff for older ones as well.

  • We all know that The Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV was a mighty ruler he did so much for Czech but what happens after that ????? I could not resist taking a photo of this nasty pigeon who couldn?t be careless about him.

Actually it was not my idea to take a photo. but some other people were taking photo and having laugh so i decided to just join them.

  • Vaclavske Nam has plenty to offer, it is centre point of all tourist attractions. If you are feeling lazy and splash out some cash, than why not taking a ride and feel like a royalty. I am too fit and energetic to take one of those rides. There are many people who would queue up to get a ride but you wouldn’t see me in that queue.
