Xunantunich is a Mayan site located a few miles southwest of San Ignacio. The name means "Stone Woman" or "Maiden of the Rock". The site is best known for the towering pyramid known as "El Castillo", which at 130 feet (40 meters) is the second tallest structure in Belize. |
