Maybe you remember the Bond-film that plays in Japan: "You only live twice" (Was it the best one in the whole series?). The Japanese Secret Service has a "Ninja"-trainingcamp in a castle and here it is: Japanese most beautiful. The castle of Himeji is just outside the town and a short walk from the Shinkansen-station brings you to the foot of the hill that it's build on. Surely a valuable stop in your travel from West to East or vice versa. Inside the castle is a museum that shows the life here in days of the Shogun.
