Restaurant Name: Chinese Restaurants
Now, Chines food is very popular in The Netherlands and the Chinese are the oldest immigrated non-European minority group within the country (yes, even older then the Indonesians that have also an enormous amount of restaurants here). In Amsterdam however a special place is reserved for the floating restaurant that is a copy of the Jumbo, located in Hong Kong harbour.

Restaurant Name: De Blonde Hollander (The Blond Dutchman)
This restaurant in the neighborhood of the cluster of restaurants near the Leidse Plein, is by far my favourite restaurant where they serve traditional Dutch "pot". A great variety can be ordered of many real Dutch recepies that appeared (and disappeared) through the ages. The food is prepared with care and served with a smile (and if necessary appropriate explanation).
Favorite Dish: Hutspot & klapstuk = stew of potatoe, carrots and onions, topped with juicy gravy and long baked soft (beef)meat.

Address: Leidsekruisstraat 28
Directions: When arriving at the Leidse Plein from the centre, you go left into the street with many restaurants (however, all foreign cuisine). Then turn left again into the second street. Only a few meters away is "De Blonde Hollander" on your left hand side.
