Small pearl, hidden in mid-Limburgian land

Just North of Haelen (a village North-West of Roermond) along the stream of the small river "Leu", there is this little village called "Nunhem". The name obviously doesn't say you anything, but in agriculture the name "Nunhems Seeds Company" does ring a bell on global scale. The village itself however stayed humble and tiny, in the midst of green acres and fields and the forest of the "Leu"-valley nature reserve (see my Heythuyzen page).

Many chaples around the Saint Servaas

Maastricht has a famous "Saint Servaas church, but the main religious house of Nunhem holds the same name as it's bigger sister in the Limburgian capitol. Nunhem also has many chaples scattered throughout the village and it's surroundings and honouring many holy men and women of the Roman Catholic church.
