I was perplexed in which category I should place this in. To some, maybe Warning and Dangers, to others a Must See. It can’t be Nightlife, but easily could be described as a Local Customs. I’ve decided to use Off The Beaten Path – It most accurately describes this event call The Bay to Breakers.

I did see this very naked woman, performing a keg stand, being supported by the group of Pamplona Bull Runners shown. Not joking. Too bad my digital camera was too slow on the draw… but you get the picture. For those of you who do not know what a keg stand is, even after the picture shown, it is a handstand, supported by those around you, over a keg of beer, while someone placed the tap in your mouth as you chug beer upside down.

One of the ways you can get out on the Bay is if you go on the Alcatraz Tour. There are other ferries and I am sure there are probably some other boats you can hire as well. Lucky for me, one of my old college roommate's family has a boat. So a few ol' college roommates and I went out for the afternoon. Such a great day. more pics in the t'logue

This is a good off the beaten path spot. It is lesser-known park in the heart of the Haight Dist. It is a good climb uphill, with varying paths and steps to choose from. Once at the top you can view a decent, less observed, vistas of the city; from the tip of the GG Bridge to the Financial and over to Potrero Hill.

The park begins on the Corner of Haight and Central. Lower side of Upper Haight and is filled with little picturesque scenery
