As many of you have heard, Switzerland is one of the more expensive places in Europe, if not the most. I found that finding food for the budget traveler could be a daunting task. Someone told me, to find out how expensive a place is, go into the local McDonalds, and find out how much a meal will cost. That is a good barometer in prices for that area. Read: in Geneva, a meal cost roughly $10 USD’s, $11 for the larger sizes. But it is not hard to see where the money goes, you are paying for very friendly people and gorgeous scenery. I took day trips from Geneva to places like Gstaad, Montreux and Bern. Very different personalities, and all amazing train rides to see the countryside. |
