Far East in Italy Trieste is port city located in the far East part of Italy bordering Slovenia. Until (relatively) recently history (WWII), this city was under (the former) Yugoslavia rule so you will find influences from both cultures, such as architecture, language and food. I was only here for one night, and I found it to be a nice stop traveling between the EU countries and Croatia. (Or if your travels bring you from or to place such as Slovenia or Budapest for that matter) And is a relatively cheap stay along the Adriatic coast of Italy. special thanks to Cris (aka: banjo) for providing me with historical data. |
