Walk/Ride/Rollerblade down the strand (the strand is the long sidewalk along the beach) in Manhattan Beach. The picture below was taken in the middle of December. Summer or Winter, it is nice be on the stand and watch people play volleball or surf. There are two strands, one for walking (on the left) and one for riding/rollerblading (on the right). I have noticed that visitors are sometimes confused by the two separate uses of each of the strands. Please be aware, because you don't want to get run over by someone on a bike if you are walking on the bike strand. I have seen it happen.

Summer '74 as Kansas college junior came to MB to join my brother, med student at USC. Lived on 42nd. Could walk to El T's after day at beach/partying. Your story makes it sound like nothing has changed. Nice to know 30 years later. Thanks for good memory | dnlcullen Thu Feb 15, 2007 19:49 UTC
Hi there- I am comign to MB the week of Easter and we're stayign at the Sea View Inn. Yours was the only "good" review--is the beach there swmimmable?? Is the water temp too cold---thanks- E Cullen-any other tips would be great-- |
