When Australia was deciding on a capital for our country, we could not decide between Sydney & Melbourne. So, we chose the geographic centre between the two. At that time, nothing existed where Canberra is today. So now... it is just a small city, albeit our Capital! |

|  | For all those cyclists... Lake Burley Griffin is at the centre of Canberra. A huge lake that has cycle paths following the 35km circumference. Its a great cycle way, with designated cycle paths! WOW!
