Theme: Biking
Centennial Park is over 500 acres of lush gardens, sports fields, lakes & cycle paths.
As a resident of sydney (and its close to my house) this is something I do at least twice a week. I love to go cycling around the circumference of the park. One full circuit is about 3km. Serious cyclists are always there early morning. Families and leisure cyclists are there on the weekends during the day.
The Centennial Park Cafe is often crowded on weekends, but a mobile canteen between the lakes in the middle of the park serves snacks and espresso. Bikes and blades can be rented from the nearby Clovelly Road outlets, on the eastern side of the park. www.cp.nsw.gov.au
Its also a great place to relax or picnic with friends and family. Don't forget to take some bread to feed the ducks!
A little paradise, so close to the city.
Equipment: You don't need your own bike or blades, as they can be rented from Clovelly Road bike rental store.
