Heavy rain in Sydney...

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Contrary to popular belief, it does rain in Australia - OK, so I'm exaggerating a little. But the fact is, that when it does rain here, it's usually a very heavy down-pour. In Australia we refer to this heavy rain as "it's raining cats and dogs!" so make sure you bring some wet weather gear so that you don't get completely & totally soaked. It's often not the kind of rain (like in London) that you can easily walk through without getting too wet.

Light rain-jacket, umbrella & sneakers or good grip shoes. When the pavements get wet here, some of them get very slippery!
