"Potsdam" Potsdam by Kate-Me
Potsdam Travel Guide: 388 reviews and 1,263 photos
We only travelled by train in Germany, and Potsdam was a long way off the beaten track for us.
If not for knowing my Internet penfriend Gregor and him putting us up at his place for a couple of days, we never would have come to Potsdam (and that would have been a pity, as we enjoyed it very much).
Before we visited Potsdam, Cologne was as far into Germany as we'd been.
Gregor took us on walk from his place almost all around the city, including its many parks and beautiful green areas. All of what we saw, we saw on foot, which was great.
Here is the 'New Gate' in the mall which we found very castle-like and so extremely attractive.
- Pros:Many attractive monuments and palaces
- Cons:Seemed to be quite a lot of graffiti
- In a nutshell:A very attractive city surrounded by parkland

Great Work here, we are in Potsdam this may...Greetings Peter
I have a son considering visiting Potsdam, so I am finding out more about it. Interesting stuff about the bickering between Churchill, Truman and Stalin.
Thanks for sharing your tips with us. I'm anxious to see Potdam next week. Loisl/Peter
Great page. Will be there in Sept. and I can't wait. Beautiful place and so historic.
Must build my Potsdam page one of these days although maybe I shouldn't because I have taken almost some exact same pictures as you!! Great page, thanku. P.S It's freezing and snowing here so a wee bit envious of u in Oz :)
Why is it that Russian churches seem to pop up everywhere !!!?
