    Getting TO/AROUND: Sure, public transport is good getting around the cities, but once you leave them behind, I recommend you hire yourself a car (or camper van) so attractions don't all end up being 'off the beaten track' for you.

    If driving through the N.T. outback isn't your cup of tea though, bus travel is good there, as there's only one highway and towns are small, plus at the major attractions you could join mini tours. (This will end up being a lot less tiring for you than driving yourself 8 hours a day through the outback).
