Mediaeval goods....: Mediaeval shop
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Name of Shop: Mediaeval goods....

This shop was quite amazing, particularly as it not only sold mediaeval goods, celtic ornaments, suits of armour and chain mail, and other objects like that, but it also specialised in selling Xena props (costumes which were worn by extras and used in the filming of the famous Xena series). There was such a lot of work in some of them, especially the leather outfits - very interesting to see.

What To Buy: They also sold some Lord of the Rings type items, of course, pewter goblets, etc

They've got an online store too.

What To Pay: I didn't find the shop too expensive, considering you wouldn't find much of this stuff anywhere else, apart from Europe perhaps.

    Penny Farthing Cycles: Unusual items...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Name of Shop: Penny Farthing Cycles

One thing I enjoyed about Auckland, was getting out of the centre of the city a bit (where all the shops seemed pretty standard, for any city) and finding a few more unusual shops - like one selling Penny Farthing cycles, for one thing!
I also liked the NZ architecture on many of their corner buildings, including this one.
