"Augusta, beautiful little town on the SW coast" Top 5 Page for this destination Augusta by Kate-Me

Augusta Travel Guide: 30 reviews and 96 photos

Our visit to Augusta was very brief, just a short stop really.
On the way in, we weren't overly impressed: just a couple of places where you could buy coffee, some upmarket accommodation, a supermarket that was overpriced (like many small towns we passed on our tour of the south west), a nice bakery and some other essential stores.
BUT... my opinion of the place changed totally when we reached the beach, below (it didn't even seem to have a particular name...it was just THERE so for VT purposes I'll just call it "Augusta Beach'.
This shot was taken on the way to the Cape Leeuwin lighthouse, Cape Leeuwin being the most south westerly point of Australia.

Pros and Cons
  • Cons:a long way from anywhere, even Perth
  • In a nutshell:Small town in a fantastic location with breathtaking beaches - all but deserted!

Hi Kathryn. We stayed overnight here & I was able to climb the lighthouse without a tour. But that was back in 98. Stunning photos you have here.

Good start! We didn't spend long in Augusta either...seemed like a nice place though!
