Restaurant Name: Gilligans

Gilligans (as in Gilligan's Island, I guess!) is like the good old Aussie Fish & Chip shop crossed with a trendy cafe...combining the best elements of both.

You can watch your meal cooked in front of you, the service is fast, and then you can either take away or eat in the restaurant. The walls are painted with a lot of blue/green and sea scenes, and the tables are similarly decorated, giving a nice maritime feel.
The food smells absolutely delicious...I defy you to walk past without wanting to go in and sample some of the delicious fish and crispy chips (we just couldn't resist).
You pay just a little more for the atmosphere, and the fact that from the window tables or outside area you're right across the road from the beach and have water views.

Favorite Dish: There are several different kinds of fish, including ones not on normal Fish & Chip menus (so I tried grilled Garfish for a change)

Restaurant Name: The Sphinx Entertainment Centre

I haven't eaten here yet, but on weeknights they have special theme nights - one night it's Stir Fry night, another night they specialise in Seafood, and on another they have a Schnitzel deal.
I just really loved the outside of this building and had to take a look around.

Restaurant Name: The Sphinx

The inside lobby of The Sphinx is also very impressive. Don't ask me what sort of stone it's all made of - but it's definitely not sandstone. It's fairly light. Fibreglass material maybe.

Restaurant Name: The Sphinx

This is above the inner entry way. There's also a little Egyptian souvenir shop.
Then the door leads in to the Gaming Room/Bistro, which is also decorated with Tutankhamen and other Egyptian things like framed egyptian pictures on the wall, and even Tutankhamen heads featured all over the carpet.

Restaurant Name: La Parisienne

La Parisienne is Geelong's only French Restaurant (as far as I know - not usual to find French restaurants here outside of a capital city) and rather well known in Geelong.

I haven't actually eaten here yet, as it's a bit out of my usual price range, but I really love the building and the position on the waterfront at Eastern Beach and its Frenchness, the Eiffel Tower model out the front, etc so I just wanted to share some photos of it with you.
