Gippsland

Gippsland in Victoria covers the coastal area from Sale to the New South Wales coastal border.
It takes in many different types of scenery, from clusters of large lakes, waterways and sand bars, to beaches (including 90 mile beach), to rainforest, caves, farming land, small towns and more, with the Victorian Alps often as a backdrop.
The lakes are extremely popular for yachts and other craft.

Buchan Caves

The town of Buchan in Gippsland is quite tiny - only a few hundred people at most, but attracts many visitors to its caves. There are over 200 caves in the Buchan area but only a handful of them are open to the public.
There are 2 main tourist caves.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Beautiful lake and coastal scenery
Cons:Can be a long distance to travel right through the area
In a nutshell:A very pretty region to visit, best in Summer.

I really enjoy the fresh fish at Lakes Entrance.
