Our stay at the Grosvenor hotel should have been great - the price was only $80 for the room for the 3 of us (shared bathroom) and it was a nice building, historic stone pub, and nearly all the rooms on our floor had balcony access to the huge veranda which ran around the building..but therein lies part of the problem, as the night we stayed there, there just happened to be a sport team staying the night celebrating a win....and they celebrated all night on the balcony just outside our room, so we didn't get much sleep at all.
The staff were sympathetic the next morning and gave us a 50% refund, so I think I'd stay there again, as surely we were just unlucky that an entire drunken sport team chose that night to party.
Unique Qualities: Location is very handy, as it's right in the main street, only 5 minutes walk to the Granite Island bridge to view the penguins as well, and the pub's restaurant downstairs is one of the most reasonably priced restaurants in town.
